I partly disagree with the author. I feel like many of the qualities he mentions, such as being healthy, productive, successful, and financially secure, are important goals that can improve a person's life, buttt I agree that problems arise when people become obsessed with these goals or measure their value solely by their achievements and status. A balance between ambition and self-acceptance is important.
I agree with the author's point that genuinely confident people do not constantly seek validation from others but, I disagree with the idea that dreaming about something reinforces that you are not that thing. In my view, dreams can inspire action, growth, and achievement. Many successful people started with a dream and worked hard to turn it into reality.
Struggle, and failure are unavoidable parts of life. Many valuable achievements require sacrifice, persistence, and the willingness to face discomfort. I also agree that avoiding problems often makes them worse because unresolved challenges tend to return in different forms.
However, I think there is a difference between accepting pain as part of life and ignoring it completely. Some forms of pain should be addressed and healed rather than simply endured.
"The avoidance of struggle is a struggle."
